Wow, this is really a great interview to get a good look at the man behind the large mouse mask, Joel Zimmerman. Watch to see him discuss how he came up into doing music full-time, and how he copes with being a computer man not a musician. And also how he met up with Chris James for the vocals on "The Veldt", very interesting.
Deadmau5 receives a lot of negativity in response to all of his unsolicited rants about whatever he is upset about at that time, however there is no denying the man's musical genius. In the past year, maybe even more, he has made a concerted effort to distance himself away from what most would consider the mainstream EDM scene, and both his music and actions reflect that. Nonetheless, his tracks continue to get better and better as his style becomes more unique and harder to duplicate. "The Veldt" was an immense success (I heard it like 6 times at Identity this weekend), and he is looking forward to another EP sometime in the next few months as his new studio is basically finished.
