Digital Dankness: Week in Review and Sparks (Vicetone Remix) Free Download

Digital Dankness definitely had an eventful week, first gettin DCMA notifications from Deadmau5 about the leaked album, which is why our leak link has been down, then havin some scumbag trying to squeeze money out of us for the DD .com domain... lets be real does he know who hes messing with? Now with Swedish House Mafia tickets selling out in a record 3 minutes? like what the fuck.. Its a suicidal day all around, and there definitely was no plur in the house community this week, everyones on bath salts. As you can see EDM has kept us busy.. along with a three- hour low- rate technical row before breakfast, full course load. studying, and then another 3 hours in the tank and then studying again (Social Network Reference).. did everyone get that one? no? yes? whatever..

anyway so the greatly talented Nicky Romero and Fedde Le Grand have dropped their long awaited Sparks track and one of our favorite DJ's Vicetone has generously released his amazing remix with a free download check it out.

Hey guys, I’m pretty much a rookie when it comes to blogging, but I have been an adamant fan of Edm for over 3 years now, right around the time this new trio called Swedish House Mafia came out with their first song called “One.” For my first Flashback Friday I want to share with you some classic yet relatively unknown tracks from the very polarizing figure named Deadmau5 (pronounced deadmouse). I give Deadmau5 the credit of getting me more into the Edm scene and pushing me away from hip/hop and rap with his track “Ghosts N’ Stuff.” The three tracks I’ll be sharing with you is “October,” “FML, and ” “You Need a Ladder.” 

If you have never heard Deadmau5’s music, it is simple yet beautiful beats with a harmonic melody that will have you tapping your feat without you even knowing. Words cannot describe the number 4 DJ in the world’s (according to the well known/scandalous “DJ Mag”) music, so you’ll just have to listen to and see for yourself. 

Vocal Control: Feed Me & Crystal Fighters- Love Is All I Got

Comin fresh off Deadmau5's Mau5trap records is this amazingly chill electro house song. The vocals on this come late and the beginning of the track lingers a little, but once it drops you get the same positive upbeat feel that Eric Prydz puts on his allien track. These tracks have a higher pitched electronic sound that makes us all clench our teeth and cheese hard. The extremely smooth vocals adds another track to our category of vocal control.

Now after the infamous "Molly" track, not many people heard from Mr. Cedric Gervais, and as it should be, in my opinion. When you have a 1 hit wonder hanging over your head.. and the only thing you don't want, is to be remembered for.. well just that, than you should stick to no releases and keep yourself locked in a room for a few months like Deadmau5 just announced he will be doing... Cedric Gervais perfected this song.. and then perfected it one more time to make sure his next release doesn't add him to the list with the other 15 minute famers. Gervais returns with Cedaine.. which my dirty mind jumped right too was a mix of Codeine and cocaine? maybe maybe not who knows... well probably Cedric Gervais but its fine. Take a listen to this electro house banger with a nice drop and a constant feel of lasers.

Great 43 Minute Interview with Deadmau5, Definitely A Must-Watch

Wow, this is really a great interview to get a good look at the man behind the large mouse mask, Joel Zimmerman. Watch to see him discuss how he came up into doing music full-time, and how he copes with being a computer man not a musician. And also how he met up with Chris James for the vocals on "The Veldt", very interesting.

BRAND NEW DEADMAU5: There Might Be Coffee [FREE DOWNLOAD] UPDATE: COFFEE'S READY!

Deadmau5 receives a lot of negativity in response to all of his unsolicited rants about whatever he is upset about at that time, however there is no denying the man's musical genius. In the past year, maybe even more, he has made a concerted effort to distance himself away from what most would consider the mainstream EDM scene, and both his music and actions reflect that. Nonetheless, his tracks continue to get better and better as his style becomes more unique and harder to duplicate. "The Veldt" was an immense success (I heard it like 6 times at Identity this weekend), and he is looking forward to another EP sometime in the next few months as his new studio is basically finished. 


To appease his anxious and loyal mau5heads, Joel Zimmerman released this new, unfinished, unmastered track called "There Might Be Coffee" and it is a work of art, ladies and gentlemen. Listen for yourself and download it while you still can.

Mau5trap Records - We Are Friends EP [PREVIEW]

Deadmau5's label "Mau5trap Records" has released a preview to the upcoming EP "We Are Friends". Deadmau5 has assembled quite the crew to his label, a diverse collection of producers  ranging from electro house to progressive and dubstep. Have a  listen to a few of these names who you will certainly be hearing  about  in the future.

Sunday Setlist - FULL SETS FO FREE

How could anyone begin a brand new week without hours upon hours of new music to help them get through it? It truly is a mystery. Anywho, here's my favorite hour-long sets that dropped this week featuring the likes of Deadmau5, Hardwell, Arty and Seb Ingrosso. As always, tracklists are after the jump.

Although it is a month old, I stumbled upon this recent Deadmau5 set from Cream Amnesia, Ibiza and let me tell you, it is Deadmau5 at his finest. Signature mau5 from beginning to end. More new music to come from Deadmau5 near the end of summer.


This week's edition of Hardwell: On Air came from his set at Sensation Amsterdam where, as always, Hardwell put on quite the show. Definitely download this banging set.

Special Features - "You & Me" [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Special Features just released this DOPE track for free! If you haven't heard, Special Features is a young producer from London who has been quite successful lately in creating a unique electronic sound that everyone can enjoy. The best way I can describe it is a whiny, yet melodic synth that is addictive to listen to. "You and Me" is the title of this latest release, but read on for some of his older hits that brought him his initial attention like "Synergy" and his remix of "Strobe".

Nowhere To Go (PIXL Remix) - W&W ft Bree [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Australian producer PIXL released this track today called " Nowhere To Go", a remix of W&W's original. The beautiful vocals are complimented by a heavier-than-expected electro segment after the drop, nonetheless a great track and even better since its available for free.
