Flashback Friday (Is Back!)

It's been a few weeks since the last Flashback Friday, and for this I apologize but don't worry, it's back in full force this week with 5 great tracks everyone will love. Because of the unexpected break from Flashback Friday, this week I'm focusing less on going way back in time and more on giving you guys semi-old, great tracks that you will enjoy.

HOUSE: "2Night" is a classic track from Eric Prydz that really defined his presence in the world of electronic music. This track came out in 2011, after he had established his dominance but it really knocked the point home, have a listen for yourself and hear how great it is.

MOOMBAHTON: The Grandtheft Bootleg of Tyga's "Rack City" captures the essence of the original "Rack City" but adds a little flavor and bass to create something real spicy. Download it for sure.


DUBSTEP: Bassex's  interpretation of Wolfgang Gartner's "The Champ" is quite filthy. Its slowed down and heavy sound makes this a must-have for those who love their dirty dirty.

HIP-HOP: In terms of the best contemporary rappers, Curren$y has earned his spot in the conversation with his consistency and clever rhymes. "Audio Dope II" off his Pilot Talk album has a chill beat, and his flow goes great over the steel drum samples. Give it a listen.


WEEKLY WILD CARD: This week's wildcard is a favorite of mine. The Alexander Adstedt Remix of Medina's "Addiction" goes hard. It has a soothing melody and nice beat, and when it drops it explodes into a big-room beauty. Don't miss this heater.

Trance Tuesday!

Trance Tuesday returns after an extremely successful week last week, here to give you the best in the growing world of trance music. Up top is Arty's remix for Zedd's "Spectrum", as the young Russian gives it a more trancy feel than we've seen from all the other countless "Spectrum" remixes (see Armin Van Buuren's remix here). Below is another huge track from up and coming producer Audien, whose track "Eventide" was the header for last week's Trance Tuesday. Here we have his latest masterpiece "Unity".

Next is a great new remix of one of my favorites, "Melo" by Pryda the Ashley Wallbridge remix. At about 30 seconds in, the grinding synths come in with a great melody before the real tune comes in and its a true beauty.

This next track is a new remix of a somewhat older track, this is the Beat Service remix to LTN's "Never Let Me Go". You may recognize the nice vocals, but just wait until about 1:45 for the amazing synths that this remix has to offer.

House House House

Today's house post includes several amazing new tracks that range slightly from smooth and trancey all the way to the more dirty electro side of things, but I assure you they all bring something great to the table. First up is the video above, a preview of Eric Prydz next single "Everyday". Simply put, Eric Prydz, or Pryda as he is now known, has shown that he can do no wrong. After the wildly successful EP "Pryda", he surprised his fans with a small US tour, and now he is set to release even more tracks. As a huge fan of his more mellow, easy-to-listen to style, I can't wait to keep hearing from this Swede.

Here's a big remix from Jacques Lu Cont (aka 3-time Grammy winner Stuart Price) who takes a crack at Coldplay's "Charlie Brown". Definitely a fun one to listen to...

Michael Woods links up with the vocal chords of Polina to bring us a more progressive gem than we're used to from this Brit who's been having a lot of success recently.

Finally, here's dBerrie's take on Passion Pit's heavily remixed song "Take A Walk". You may recall The M Machine's remix which we featured on here, although the two remixes are different styles, I do prefer The M Machine remix, but download them both and let us know what track you prefer.

Trance Tuesday!

Now that we're starting to get a hang of this whole blog thing, Digital Dankness is looking forward to adding several daily features, and lucky for you today is TRANCE TUESDAY.

 First up we have a huge track by Ost & Meyer that has been widely supported throughout the trance community, most notably Above & Beyond. Amazing track, really gets good around the 25 second mark. Here's Antalya:

Eric Prydz, a name you may recognize from his classic track "Call On Me", has been in the game for a while, and knows what he's doing. His recent EP "Pryda" was hugely successful, and definitely ventures more into the realm of trance than his "Call On Me" days. Before the EP's release earlier this year, he released this beautiful, 8 minute melodic track entitled "Melo". Do yourself a favor and turn this up and listen through to learn how the pros do it. Even better, you can download it free here

Next up, a track that was officially released yesterday on Beatport, but has already been loved by many including the legendary Armin Van Buuren on ASOT 560. Heatbeat goes hard on "Chow Mein":

Also off of A State of Trance 560 is Rafael Frost's latest hit "Channel 4". The track starts off kind of hard, then the melody pulls you in around 3:00. Give it a listen and download it free here.



Last but definitely not least for this week's Trance Tuesday is an edit of Denzal Park's banger Amarok. The track builds up softly until the 1-minute mark where Park comes in with some nice hard synths, just when it seems like it's too good to be true, at around 2:20 the real melody begins its smooth ascension. Below we have an edit by Felix Leiter who chops it up nicely near the end, but otherwise this version is almost the same as the original, except this one is free. Check it out!
